What goes into a grade?

Work Habits & Practice Class Work (15%) |
Work is done in class and is graded on EFFORT and INTEGRITY with which students approach the work. This is practice, so it isn't required that students get all of the correct answers. It's required that students try their best and revise their work with feedback from the teachers and/or their peers. |

Work Habits & Practice Homework (15%) |
Work is done at home or afterschool and is graded on EFFORT and INTEGRITY with which students approach the work. This is practice, so it isn't required that students get all of the correct answers. It's required that students try their best and revise their work with feedback from the teachers and/or their peers. |

Class Standards (NYS Standards for each subject) (50%) |
Students are assessed on the required grade level standards for each grade. These are assessed in class level assessments such as quizzes, tests, exit tickets, snapshot assessments, and standards mastery assessments. These are also assessed during the midterm benchmark assessments and on the i-Ready diagnostic assessment. Students have multiple opportunities throughout the year to grow towards and mastery these required grade level standards. |

Portfolio / Writing (20%) |
Students are provided an opportunity to apply their learning from throughout each unit in a final portfolio piece that exhibits their understanding of the content. Portfolio assessments are also used to assess the writing and speaking standards. |
